Armed Forces Day - Bents Park - 27th June 2009
We
would like to thank everyone who attended our Armed Forces Day at Bents
Park on Saturday, there were riders from all over the place and you all
helped make this event a great success. Our special thanks to the the
Hell's Angels Tyne & Wear, the North East Road Bandits and the
Wyrmryders and who assisted with the event.
The inspiration for this event came following the magnificent support we had for our shoebox appeal for Support our Soldiers. Joyce and Kim volunteer representatives for the North East have been a great help in assisting us in organising the event. You can visit their website here
The
day started off with a ride from the clubhouse of over 150 bikes along
the seafront to Bents Park, thanks to
Selgovae for marshalling the
ride, everyone arrived safe and sound and had plenty of support along
the way!
Thanks
to our local bands who were The Volts and the Toxic Pixies, both local,
young bands who put on a fantastic show and everyone really enjoyed
them.
The custom bike show had a great variation of custom bikes and you can see our photos here
Thanks to South Tyneside's Deputy Mayor, Councillor Tom Pigott for opening the event and taking a great interest in the show.
The 5th Battallion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers for allowing people to have fun on the Paintballing range.
Thanks
to Jason and his colleagues for organising the vintage US army
vehicles, army tents, ammunition and guns and memoribilia from the
Second World War, an incredible collection for everyone to see and
enjoy. The children attending were particularly interested and asked a
load of questions.
Next Years event will be on Sunday 27th June 2010, again at Bents Park, South Shields - stick it in your diary!!!!
